FAQ

I'm not a professional photographer, can I still come?
What's covered in the workshops?

Most definitely. We have a wide range of photographers attend workshops and they all come away with a wealth of new knowledge and a wonderful experience. Some have never used their DSLR camera before, while others are seasoned industry photographers. You don't need to be a professional photographer to attend the workshops.

Every workshop goes over using your DSLR, mirrorless camera, or iPhone camera, what your camera settings mean and what they control, lenses and their focal lengths, manipulating natural light, food styling, the business side of photography, utilizing social media, and a tutorial on post-processing images in Adobe Lightroom. Each individual workshop has additional activities that differ from workshop to workshop, like cheesemaking, truffle foraging, wine tasting, and so on. These additional activities are meant to help you unwind, relax, and enjoy the local food culture of the workshop's location.

What is included in the registration fee?

The registration fee includes lodging and meals for the duration of the workshop, scheduled excursions, maker demonstrations, transportation to and from excursions, and welcome gifts. The only thing not covered is airfare and transportation to the workshop location itself.

I'm a vegetarian, are there restricted diet options?

Nearly all meals during the workshop are vegetarian. If there is a local specialty with meat or seafood, like prosciutto or chorizo for example, we will have it out to eat but there will always be vegetarian options for every meal. If you have a food sensitivity just let me know on the sign up form when you register and we will make special dishes for you. If it is something we will have difficulties accommodating, I will be in touch about working it out.

I would love to have a First We Eat workshop in my town and have some venue and activity ideas, can I reach out?

Of course! I am always looking for bloggers to collaborate with for future workshops. Just shoot me an email under the 'Contact' tab.
